How do i set car amplifier gains with a dmm?
I want to set my amps gain with a dmm. but i dont know what setting i should put it on. I want to set my volts at (150w@2ohms) 24.4 and (50w@4ohms) 14.14 for my car amps
I have 2 dmms that i borrowed. the first one has the settings:
DCV (10, 50, 250, 500)
B. Test(9V, 1.5V)
DCA(250m)
ACV(10, 50, 250, 500)
OHM (RX 100, RX 10, RX 1)
the second one has
VDC (200m, 2, 20, 200, 600)
VAC (200, 600)
OHM (2M, 200k, 20k, 2k, 200, 10A, 200m, 20m)
and it also has 1.5V and 9V under a symbol there that I dont know
Use the first DMM and set it to VAC (50). (Your meter has it labeled as ACV)
You will also need a test tone CD if you are trying to set the input gains.
If you just want to measure how many Volts the amps are receiving from the battery then you need to switch the meter over to DCV (20) (Your meter has it labeled DCV).
There is no way to "change" what the DMM reads. It will ALWAYS be around 12VDC with the car off and around 14VDC with the car running.
