Trace Amplifier Plug
1968 evinrude 55 h/p 3 cyl. o/b update on problem still?
e.i.no spark to plugs.see my previous questions....,ok. now if i touch test wire to black wire coming from points to amplifier,and plugs pulled,(but still in high tension leads),turn engine by hand,each plug sparks,one at a time as i complete engine turn,but if installed plugs,and leave one out ..no spark?? and all plugs in no fire!! more help please,how about step 1 on up to trace problem??!!
If you leave all the plugs out, turn the key and crank the motor over, do you have spark on the 3 plugs? If yes and you put the spark plugs back, how are you testing for spark?
If you have spark with the plugs out of the motor, but when they are in,you do not have spark, you have an issue with dropping the voltage to the amplifier as I stated last time in a prior answer.
